Dr Craig Parker, works in Anaesthetic Department as a Medical Officer in the East London Public hospital complex. Was a mechanical Engineer in the mining industry for 20 years before finding himself back at school studying medicine. He lives in East London with his wife (ICU nursing sister) and two teenage children and their 2 Labradors.
He started this project as he felt there was an obvious gap in the ability to provide respiratory compromised patients with a solution besides intubation and ventilator support in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The engineering side of his brain had some ideas that he thought could address this.
At times in the past, he has been frustrated with why it took so long to find his true calling but perhaps it was so that he would be possibly useful at such a time as this.
